DIGM, Greenroom and ACE Funded

 Artistic collaboration between North West based dance company Voidance Company. Artistic Director Julia Griffin (UK), with Kate Engineer (UK) and Bridget Fiske (AUS).The artists met through connections established by DiGM and CCDM (Community Contemporary Dance Movers) and the relationship was initiated by Julia Griffin to explore movement ideas as a method of setting up a working dialogue.

Voidance Company were awarded the inaugural Turn Prize for Three Crows on the Road..

'Written on the Body.'

Creative collaborator, performer and documentary filmmaker on 'Written on the Body'. An innovative 360-degree video installation screened at The Digital Planetarium in Birmingham's Think Tank, using new digital software.

'Night Cocoons'.

'The Migrant Body Project'

The project explored the theme of displacement and temporary migration, as artists are displaced to other countries to experience alternative cultures and to research new methods of working, develop creative languages and to explore the `creative process' through alternative translations and ideas culminating in the creation of new work under the umbrella title of `The Migrant Body'.

`The Assembly'

Rachel Davies film installation for Manchester International Festival April - July 2007. UK.

Choreographer and Performer.
The Assembly was funded through ACE and was a Manchester First Commission for Manchester International Festival. The film installation by Rachel Davies was inspired by the artist's memories of singing in the Manchester Girls Choir in the early1980's; a world of aspiration, teenage anxiety and pop music, set against a society that appeared to be turning its back on shared and collective experience.

The `Memoria' project is an ongoing research enquiry into the use of memory recall in project participants in creating visual and kinetic environments that are installed into `black box spaces'. The work is durational (ongoing over several years) and also explores the notion of the decline of the artists own personal memories as she gets older.
The project began as an `Artist in Residence' initiative at New College Nottingham in 2004.

`Robots in the Desert'.

August- October 2004
First choreographic commission for CO3 to work with choreographer Julia Griffin and Soundscape artists `Dwang'.

`Golden Day Waltzing'.

July - November 2006
Intergenerational short dance film commissioned by Heritage Lottery, BOPS and Blackpool Borough Council. The project involved community dance groups from Blackpool including The Tango Generation and young dancers from Bispham High School and the surrounding district. The film was shown as part of Movement on Screen 2006, Commonwealth Film Festival and Salford Film Festival.

`Dancing in the Aisles'.

April - June 2009
Project funded by Arts Council North West, St. Johns Ambulance `Young Carers Project' and The Mulberry Centre.  A site-specific project at Christ Church, Chester.
Utilizing the historical and social context of the church and architectural influences as the choreographic starting point for the work.

`Forum for the Pedestrians'

29th -30th October 2009.
Chester Performs commissioned Co3 Dance in collaboration with film artist Julia Griffin to create a site based dance film to be projected on Chester City Walls.

‘All about us’

Jan to May 2012.

Video Installation and short film for Cultural Olympiad Project with Wigan based community groups in collaboration with CO3. Creating a short dance film and a video installation in Media City and Wigan Parish Church.
